To Create a Work Package

  1. Click the Work Package tab, docked at the left side of the application window.
  2. Right-click Work Packages and from the pop-up menu, select New Work Package.

    The Work Package Types dialog opens.

  3. Select the type of work package you want to create and click OK.

    The Disciplines dialog opens.

  4. From the dialog, select a discipline and click OK.

    The Activity Types dialog opens.

  5. Select an activity type and click OK.

    The <work package> – New dialog opens. The title bar of the dialog displays the type of work package, the discipline and the activity type.

  6. From the dialog, choose the Selection Level.
  7. Do one of the following:

    In the Components tab, click the component you want to add and in the dialog, click Add.

    or

    Select an item in the view and then in the dialog, click Add.

    The component(s) is added to the component list. The Task List section of the dialog displays the tasks and amount of time needed to complete the tasks.

    Note: If a task is already assigned to another work package of the same Discipline and Activity Type, the Move Tasks dialog opens. If you wish to move the tasks from the previously created work package into the new work package, click Yes.
  8. In the <work package> - New dialog, click Apply.

    The Work Package Name dialog opens.

  9. Enter a name for the new work package and click OK.

    The newly created work package is listed on the Work Package tab.

  10. Select File > Save.
